Flash Flood Watch Issued by NWS NorthernIndiana (Northern Indiana and Northeastern Ohio)

Indiana Target Area: Adams, Allen, Blackford, Cass, Fulton, Grant, Huntington, Jay, Kosciusko, Marshall, Miami, Pulaski, Starke, Wabash, Wells, White and Whitley Counties.

 

FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT /11 PM CDT/ TONIGHT.

*Flash Flood Watch for portions of northern Indiana and northwest Ohio, including the following areas, in northern Indiana, Adams, Allen IN, Blackford, Cass IN, Fulton IN, Grant, Huntington, Jay, Kosciusko, Marshall, Miami, Pulaski, Starke, Wabash, Wells, White, and Whitley. In northwest Ohio, Allen OH, Paulding, Putnam, and Van Wert.

*Until midnight EDT /11 PM CDT/ tonight.

*Numerous showers and thunderstorms along and south of Route 24 are expected to develop northward toward the Route 30 corridor this afternoon. These showers and thunderstorms have the potential to produce heavy rainfall of 1 to 2 inches in a short period of time. A localized flash flooding threat will be possible due to this additional heavy rainfall, especially for areas which have received heavy rainfall over the past 24 hours where the ground is saturated.

Instructions: A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
