Indiana Target Area: Adams, Allen, Blackford, Cass, De Kalb, Eastern St. Joseph, Elkhart, Fulton, Grant, Huntington, Jay, Lagrange, Marshall, Miami, Noble, Northern Kosciusko, Northern La Porte, Pulaski, Southern Kosciusko, Southern La Porte, Starke, Steuben, Wabash, Wells, Western St. Joseph, White, and Whitley Counties.

 

ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER RISK THIS AFTERNOON.
Near record warm temperatures in the upper 70s to lower 80s, strong wind gusts between 35 to 45 mph, and dry conditions will combine to create an elevated fire weather threat this afternoon. Given the recent dry weather, grass, brush, and other items can be easily ignited. Use extreme caution with the disposal of smoking materials.

FROST ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT EDT /11 PM CDT/ TONIGHT TO 8 AM EDT /7 AM CDT/ WEDNESDAY.

* WHAT...A period of temperatures from 33 to 36 is expected, which will allow for areas of frost to develop.

* WHERE...Portions of northern Indiana and northwest Ohio.

* WHEN...From midnight EDT /11 PM CDT/ tonight to 8 AM EDT /7 AM CDT/ Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Frost could kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left uncovered.

* WHAT...Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts of 45 to 50 mph.

* WHERE...Portions of northern Indiana and northwest Ohio.

* WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT /7 PM CDT/ this evening.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

STRONG WIND GUSTS THIS AFTERNOON AND MONDAY.
Strong gusty winds are expected to develop this afternoon mainly following the passage of the cold front. Southwest winds are expected to reach between 25 and 40 mph today. Westerly wind gusts up to 40 mph will also be possible on Monday. Secure loose outdoor objects and use caution if driving during this time, especially if driving a high profile vehicle on north-south roads.

Indiana Target Area: Cass, Fulton, Miami, Pulaski, Wabash, and White Counties.

 

A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of western Wabash, east central White, Fulton, southeastern Pulaski, Cass and Miami Counties through 1215 PM EDT.

At 1129 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Logansport, moving northeast at 55 mph.
HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. This strong thunderstorm will be near...Mexico around 1145 AM EDT. Other locations in the path of this storm include Akron.

MAX WIND GUST...40 MPH

 

Instructions: If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 400 PM EDT for north central Indiana.
